Editorial Policy
How we test, what we promise, and how we handle money.
Skincare Times exists to help readers make better decisions about what they put on their skin. Trust is the only thing that makes that possible, so here is exactly how we work.
Independence
Our editorial coverage is decided by our editors, not by brands. No company can buy a positive review, change a rating, or kill a story about its product.
How we test
When we review a product, an editor uses it themselves — in most cases for several weeks — on real skin, in real conditions. We describe what actually happened, including when a product underperformed or irritated us. We do not base reviews on press releases.
Medical accuracy
Skin is health, not just aesthetics. Our skin-health and ingredient coverage is reviewed by Dr. Lena Whitfield, a board-certified dermatologist and our contributing medical reviewer. We aim to reflect the current evidence and to flag clearly when something is marketing rather than science.
Sourcing & corrections
We link to primary sources where we can. When we get something wrong, we fix it and add a correction note. Email editors@skincare-times.com.

Advertising & sponsored content
Skincare Times is supported in part by advertising and by sponsored content produced in partnership with brands. Sponsored and partner content is commercial material and reflects the views and claims of the partner brand rather than independent editorial testing. Product claims in commercial content are the responsibility of the advertiser. Our independent editorial coverage is kept separate from these commercial arrangements and is never influenced by them.
Affiliate links
Some editorial articles may contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never affect our ratings or whether a product is covered.
